I just returned from an awesome week of primitive camping near North Pole, Alaska where my husband was part of a team of men doing some construction on a Royal Ranger boys' campground. Our tent is the second one to the right of the cabin in this picture. You can find more pictures and a video as well as my journal at the bottom of the page at http://MaconKidsLearn.shutterfly.com/imagrandma.

Our Visit to the Public Library
We really missed our favorite librarian, Ms. Julia, and were sorry to hear she is sick, but we still enjoyed our visit to the public library. See our pictures.
Kid Photographers
My students are used to me sticking a camera in front of their faces to take pictures. Today, however, I allowed them to use my camera to take pictures of whatever they chose. Each student took four pictures. Some are quite good. Others are blurry and some are of fingers, of the floor or the ground, of tops of heads, etc. The important thing, though, is that the children had fun taking the pictures.
I'm sure you'll have fun viewing them!

Citizens Bank Tour
We walked to Citizens Bank this morning for a tour of their beautiful building. The bank employees were very friendly to us and said we were well-behaved.

Macy is a Hoosier now!
My grandbaby, Macy, moved from Memphis to Indiana this week. Although I'm sad she will be another hour further away from me, I'm happy for her Daddy's new job (as a civilian mechanical engineer with the military) and for her Mommy to live close to her own parents. Grandma and Grandpa will try hard not to be jealous of Macy's Grammy and Papaw! They're wonderful people, so it'll be okay. :-)

Fishing Rodeo
In spite of a spectacular thunderstorm about 4:00 Saturday morning and another round of showers at noon on Saturday, I had fun this past weekend at a campout/fishing rodeo with the Royal Rangers from my church. (By the way, I learned on Survivor this week that Eddie George was a Royal Ranger as a kid!) I enjoyed every minute of the rodeo and wished it could have lasted longer, although I certainly was ready for my bed on Saturday night by the time I got myself clean and got my pictures uploaded.
I had the honor of sleeping on an army cot that had been used in Iraq. I was quite comfortable on the cot with the artillery coming from the sky being lightning bolts rather than enemy gunfire. I could have slept quite well except for the group from the Mt. Juliet church having too much fun all night long. :-) Those guys were certainly excited to be there! I loved listening to them & watching them as two other ladies and I relished the "comforts" of our cots inside an unfinished chalet with windows overlooking the entire area.

Let's Read!
It was a long week of testing, so we took time on Friday afternoon to read some books just for fun. Check our pictures.
